Ingredients
1X serving amount: 1 egg
Dry
Spices
salt, 1 pinch (or to taste)
pepper, 1 pinch (or to taste)
Produce
Meat, Dairy, & Eggs
egg, 1 whole (as many eggs as you like, the nutrition information is for 1 egg)
Directions
Step 1
Bring a pot to a boil on the highest heat. Once the water is boiling, using a spoon with holes, gently and slowly lower the eggs in. Try to fit as many on the spoon as you can so they cook the same amount of time.
For soft boiled eggs, boil 7 minutes for a runny center; 8 minutes for a gooey center; and 9 minutes for a firm center.
Tip: The sudden temperature change can cause the eggs to break. To prevent this, you can let the eggs come to room temperature and/or when you lower the eggs into the water, leave half in and half out for around 5 seconds before slowly lowering the entire egg in.
Step 2
Once the timer goes off, immediately run cold water over the eggs and soak them. This prevents the eggs from cooking more, and it makes peeling easier too.
Once cool enough to handle, peel the eggs.
Tip: To make peeling even easier, dump the hot water out and shake the eggs into each other before running cold water over them.
Step 3
Serve and enjoy!
